Malleable iron The four-lever mechanism is spring-loaded and opened by tension rods controlled by a hollow-shank key. The mechanism is screwed to a trefoil-cut support plate surrounded by a high collar. The octagonal key case contains five wards (German system). On the key, the shank features a ring collar, the bow is composed of rings and spirals, and the bit is filed into a meander pattern.
